Welcome to our Educational Technology 271 class blog. I have created this blog as a way for us to use technology and forge new connections with our readings and projects.
Each week, I will post a prompt as a new blog entry and ask that you write an answer in the comments section. Doing this will allow us to better share ideas and opinions about what we are learning. It is also a way for you to think critically about what you are learning and to make connections with what you already know and how you might use this information in your classroom.
Just remember, I still expect you to follow all the typical rules of composition and writing. This is no place for text-message abbreviations or sloppy writing. You need to remember that what we say and do here is available for any of us to read - teachers, classmates, members of the community, even others in the world.

ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know that I have been working on the Blackboard course to revise last semester's 8-week version into a 16-week version. It is taking longer than expected. I have sent the course to copy into the new course sites. When I get notice from Blackboard that the process is completed, I'll let everyone know that they can log in. Thanks for your patience. ReplyDeleteI am not familiar with any social network but Facebook so I hope that I did this correctly. I think once I become familiar with "Blog" it can be helpful to me. For example if I am having a problem with a assignment I can post it and hopefully get a quick response, unlike email.
ReplyDeleteAs far as my personal life I like it because it keeps me in constant contact with my relatives and long time friends.
I am really not big on technology. I enjoy seeing all of the new things and maybe playing around with them but they don't seem to be as important to me. Although I do love facebook because it keeps me in touch with loved ones. Even though I may not care for technology in my personal life it is going to benefit me a great deal career wise. I will be working with special needs children and I feel that that is the best thing to help these children learn. Some of them are not mobile and other just don't show a great interest in old fashion things. The ways of the world are changing and so are the things that captivate our children and get them to learn. I think technology has definitely broken down a barrier in education. I think at first people were scared of it until they saw the true benefit from it. I don't think it hurt us but helped us.

ReplyDeleteI've never Blogged but I have experience operating Forums for gaming communities. I love technology but hate techno-overload. Someday's I wish I just had time to learn what I'm working with before it changes. We just recieved a new radar system at work and I was a master at the old one... now back to square one.

ReplyDeleteI'm a little late jumping on board however, I think I know what I am suppose to do now. I found it slightly difficult to follow instructions but with the help of my classmates and Dr. Keesee I believe I am on the right track. Although things are not coming to me easy, I have given myself several "pats on the back" because I learned something new.
